A Guide to Mid-Autumn Festival Gift-Giving

A Guide to Mid-Autumn Festival Gift-Giving

posted: 2022-08-08 22:00:00 +0800

“May we live long and share the beauty of the moon together, even if we are hundreds of miles apart.”

Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most popular and important festivals in Hong Kong, traditionally falls on the 15th day of the lunar calendar’s 8th month when families gather together to enjoy a feast, share mooncakes, admire the full moon, light lanterns, and exchange gifts. It falls on September 10th this year and the following day after Mid-Autumn is a public holiday in HK. As the festival approaches, Give Gift Boutique has launched over a hundred Mid-Autumn hampers, including various mooncakes, fresh fruits, and snacks to meet the different preferences of family members.

Mooncakes

As a symbol of togetherness and longevity, mooncakes, the quintessential delicacy of the festival, are a unique and the most commonly eaten food to share with family. GGB has rounded up a selection of delicious mooncakes from hotels, restaurants, and local bakeries, for example, The Peninsula originally created Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes with a thick, sweet centre, and masterpieces from Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Ritz-Carlton‎, Kee Wah, W Hotel, and Maxim, which come in a range of innovative new flavors for every family member.

Seasonal Fruits

Nowadays, people are keen on healthy diets so mooncakes are not quite an ideal food on their lists. But mooncakes, those flavorful pastries, are the must-eat food during the Mid-Autumn Festival, so let’s enjoy them with seasonal fruits, such as grapefruits and persimmons as they are rich in fiber, which has many benefits and will aid in digestion.

Traditional Food

Aside from mooncakes and fruits, GGB also selects delicious traditional food for families. When extended families gather together for the reunion feast, NOURISH RICHE Superior Abalone in Jar, Hokkaido Selected Scallop, and Bird's Nest will definitely light up the night. Also, traditional Hong Kong snacks like Chocolate Pretzels, Walnut Cookies, and Dragon Beard Candies can certainly please both children and grown-ups.

Delicate Packaging

To surprise the recipients, we also designed some seasonal packaging with festive atmosphere in different styles.

PANORAMA

With more than 10 years of fruit basket experience, GGB launched Panorama Fruit Basket with a slanted display-shelf design to show the full view of all fruits and items, imported fresh fruits padded with posh golden linings and flexible scaffolds to avoid stacking, and manmade-leather premium exteriors, which can be used for storage at home.
