More about Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre

To cooperate the Kowloon East development and promotion of arts and cultural activities, government planned to construct a community arts arena since early 1980s. NCWCC opened in 1987 and managed by Urban Council (Became Provisional Urban Council after the Return). Since the reorganization of government in 2000, NCWCC became managed by new established Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

To suit the needs of the community, the Centre had undergone a major improvement in 2002, renovating the stage and seats of Theatre. In early 2004, the Exhibition Hall was also converted to a multi-purpose Cultural Activities Hall. The Theatre also started the rebuilding from November 2012, providing more professional services and advanced facilities.

To promote the arts in the community, LCSD had started the Venue Partnership Scheme since April 2009. The present partners are E-Side Dance Company and Whole Theatre.

Besides, NCWCC also provides Dance Practice Room, Music Practice Rooms and two Art Studios for citizens or groups, providing venues for rehearsals or small visual art performances.
